We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist for our Medicinal Chemistry Group, who will be the chemistry project leader for a new project and possibly manage an internal lab as well as CRO-based chemists. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently developing and implementing medicinal chemistry strategies that effectively surmount complex research problems and facilitate the achievement of key corporate goals - on time and on budget.
Responsibilities:
- Provide chemistry project leadership.
- Devise and implement medicinal chemistry strategies addressing critical project issues.
- Coordination of project activities with other disciplines.
- Support patent filings.
- Lead an internal chemistry group.

- Characterize and validate epigenetic targets for drug discovery and development projects with an emphasis in oncology.
- Independently design studies and participate in team efforts.
- Assess and develop new technologies to evaluate the therapeutic relevance and mechanisms of novel targets and support drug discovery programs.
- The candidate will be expected to have a strong presence in the laboratory and act as a resource for a core group of research associates.
Education and Requirements:
- A Ph.D. with at least 3 years of post-doctoral experience in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline.
- Technical skills in molecular biology, RNA interference, cell-based assays, protein analysis and gene expression analysis, chromatin immunoprecipitation.
- Proficient in experimental design, execution of experiments, data analysis and interpretation and data presentation.
- Must have demonstrated experience and success with oncology- or epigenetic-related model systems and techniques.
